Andrea di Pietro della Gondola, also known as Andrea Palladio, was a sixteenth century architect who re-modelled the look of Vicenza and the Venetian countryside with villas and buildings designed for the nobility.
An innovative artist, his message was just as innovative: architecture can improve society.
Here we highlight the “Palladian masterpieces”, works that preserve all the architect’s ingenious creativity and his way of evoking emotions through the use of classic orders, colour, theatrical views and by designing the building to fit the place, overcoming the difficulties and creating new beauty.
